Pastor Timothy D. Roberson

A Biography of Pastor Timothy D. Roberson, Teacher and Preacher of
"By The Grace Of God Home Bible Study"

Timothy D. Roberson was born on June 3, 1966 in Fargo, Arkansas. He was raised in that small country town from his birth until he graduated high school. Timothy Roberson was saved at the early age of 9.  He did not come into the full understanding of salvation until the Lord opened his eyes up to fully comprehend the Gospel of the Grace of God by rightly dividing the Word of Truth in this Dispensation and Age of Grace. He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Fargo, Arkansas where he worked with the assembly of parishioners who raised and trained him in following the traditions of the Baptist denomination. His mother and other brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus did the best they could in helping him to learn and understand the Word of God. His mother and all those who helped raised him trusted the Lord, believed that Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the grave on the third day according to the scriptures (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). Brother Timothy is very thankful that his fellow church members at Union Baptist Church were saved Christians. Pastor Roberson's desire to preach the gospel has been a part of his inner being since an early age. He remembers as a young child taking the Holy Bible and pretending he was preaching to others. He wanted to preach but now sees that everything in his life worked out on God’s timetable. The Lord had to prepare him to teach and preach the Word of God rightly divided.

He moved to Michigan in 1984 after graduating from Brinkley High School which is a small town about four miles from Fargo where he lived his entire childhood. He soon left Michigan to go to Wisconsin where he attended college on a basketball scholarship in 1988 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. In 2003, he earned a Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He is so grateful to God for his education which prepared him to get jobs to take care of his family, others, and also support the work of the ministry. In 1984, Timothy Roberson joined the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Westland, Michigan. By the grace of God, he began to preach in 1985. Brother Roberson was ordained by Baptist Denomination procedures in 2004. He stayed in the Baptist religious setting for over 30 plus years until the Lord brought him out in 2007. Brother Roberson and his family moved to Texas by way of the military in 2006.

While in the Baptist setting, he met his lovely wife, Charlene Roberson. They have been together a total 34 years; 27 of those years they have been married and in holy matrimony. He thanks God for his wife and their lovely daughter, Timeria Roberson. Over the years, Brother Roberson's family members kept presenting the gospel of the Grace of God rightly divided to him but Satan had him blinded to the truth. He was stubborn and did not want to hear the Gospel of the Grace of God. His family members did not give up on him and stop sharing the Word of God rightly divided. One planted, one watered and in 2007 the Lord gave the increase (1st Corinthians 3:6). Jesus Christ brought him out from following the traditions and commandments of men and placed him under some great grace teachers and he began and continues to study the word of truth rightly divided persistently, consistently, and aggressively.

In 2011, the Lord blessed him to start the "By The Grace of God Home Bible Study". The Lord is allowing him to use those experiences and what he was taught in the Baptist setting to help others see the Word of Truth rightly divided. He does not look down on those in the Baptist settings and all other denominations; he just prays that the through the effectual working of the Holy Spirit, that their eyes will be opened like his were after accepting the truth about the Gospel of the Grace of God. All those years, he had been around and studying the Word of God but not studying the Word of God rightly divided!!! God is so good and Pastor Roberson is so thankful to be teaching and preaching the Word of God rightly divided during this time of his life!!!

My Personal Testimony (From Denominationalism To A Home Bible Study)

Please Read!!!! Rituals, Traditions And Repetitions Killed The Joy Of Worshipping My God in Spirit And Truth. I Wasn’t Aware Of How Denominations Could Put A Coat Of Sugar Over The Poisonous Pills They Administer Through False Teachings, Traditions And Commandments of Men.

After twenty or so years of following the traditions and commandments of men, the Lord woke me up to what was being done to me, the Holy Spirit allowed me to see that I was not a little out of line, but way out of line. I had fallen into a rut of sitting through a church service, singing a few songs, passing the offering plate, and then hearing a tickling ear message which had been carefully curtailed as to not offend certain people in the congregation. I really thought I was "Spiritual" just because I went to a building. I always thought Sunday was the only day to worship God until the Lord opened my eyes to worshipping God any day and any time. The Lord help me realize that I didn’t need a building to worship God. Over the years I’ve learned that the main reasons for the religious division of denominationalism is man will not accept God's word as final authority and will not follow God‘s prescribed method of studying God’s Word. I had become bewildered and confused with the many conflicting beliefs of the denomination I was in and didn't know what to believe. In my denomination, I could clearly see saints give their allegiance to the authority of men over that of Christ. As a church member, I came to accept the policies, practices, and teachings in my denomination as I drifted into bondage from the traditions and commandments of men. This indoctrination was so effective that I denied I had been following men instead of God. I was placed under guilt and condemnation if I didn’t pay my tithe. I also felt that if I didn’t show up in a three piece suit, I would not be in compliance with the dress code of the denomination and what other members expected of me. If I showed up in jeans, I would have been frowned upon or told I needed to be a little more formal and dress like a preacher. Sunday morning was more like a fashion show and what each other had on was more important than saints being transformed through the Word of God by the effectual working of the Holy Spirit. I learned through the Word of God that dress codes are simply another example of power and control in denominations. By the grace of God, I’ve learned that dress codes are simply more commandments of men. This denomination was more concerned about the outer than the inner.

One big red flag the Lord allowed me to see after He brought me out was that members were forbidden to question any church teaching or doctrine. If you questioned a teaching or doctrine, you were considered a trouble maker or you were not on the same page as the Leader and the members. If I was going to stay with this denomination, I had to be compliant and submissive without questions. I felt that if I missed any Sunday for any reason, I would get questioned. I felt I had to attend every time the church doors were open. I didn’t want to get questioned. I never understood membership that required the voting approval of the existing membership. I am glad that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit didn’t vote to see if I could be saved from the penalty of sin. I am so glad my God provided a way for me to be saved from the penalty of sin by believing on the death, buried and resurrection of our Lord and Savior (Jesus Christ) 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. I was given the liberty to accept His plan of salvation or reject it. One of the highlights in the denomination was being called on to preach the morning service. I always felt that in order to preach the morning service, I had to be a man follower. I had to follow out with all the traditions and commandments of men. I had to make sure I said and did the right thing in order for me to be called on to preach the morning service. I pretty much became a yes man and a man follower. Sad to say, I worshipped the creature (man) instead of the Creator (God). I was a man pleaser, I wanted to please men and be accepted by men instead of pleasing God.

I’m saddened when I see preachers sitting around on pulpits waiting for their big day to preach the morning service. Many don’t realize that they don’t have to wait on man to preach or to do the work of the ministry. Since the Lord has opened my eyes, I look back now and noticed services were held on Sunday morning, Sunday evening, midweek service, special meetings, and "revival" meetings. Every time I turned around, I was attending an anniversary for this person, group or organization. There were anniversaries for the Pastor, the church building, the choirs, the usher board, and the Pastor’s Aide. I was in service from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm. I was TIRED when I got home. I do remember that the preacher could WHOOP as we called it. As I look back, I see that it was all about man worshipping. I also enjoyed the emotional high from the services and the tickling ear messages. Most members talked about the preacher and what he did instead of God’s Word. These commitments became so numerous that I was attending some church function every day of the week. I thank the Lord for bringing me out from under that bondage. On Sunday mornings, I would shout and jump around and have a good time in the Lord because the emotional high was there in the building, but if someone that really knew the word of God had engaged me in a dialogue about sound doctrines, I would have been totally lost and confused about the Word of God. I wouldn’t have been able to answer any questions because of the environment I was. In this environment, we had children trying to teach children the Word of God. Those children needed to be taught themselves. We had members who didn’t have no knowledge of the Word of God trying to teach other members. The environment breathed confusion. I thank God for being delivered from the traditions and commandments of men.

Proverbs 16:25 tells us that “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Why does the wrong way seem to be the right way? The way seems right because Satan has deceived many into thinking that what is wrong is right. Satan has blinded many to think that if the majority believes something, it must be right;. When the Bible tells us something that most people disagree with, like studying God’s Word God’s way ( Rightly Divided 2nd Timothy 2:15) we must have the faith to accept what the Bible says regardless of the tremendous pressure which Satan can bring to bear, for the Bible is true.

LOOK AT THIS LIST (Satan Loves Man -Made Programs) Satan with his wolves in sheep's clothing has infiltrated the church through man-made programs and traditions. Pastor Anniversary, Church Anniversary (Honoring A Building), Inspirational Choir Anniversary, Male Chorus Anniversary, Youth Choir Anniversary, Senior Choir Anniversary, Usher Board Anniversary, Pastor Aide Anniversary, Women In Red Program, Building Fund Program, Evening Program At Another Church Or Your Own, Sisters With A Testimony Program, Praise Dance Program, Mission Board Program, Fall Revival And Spring Revival. (Satan’s Goal Is To Keep Saints Busy, So There Is No Time To Question False Doctrines And Study The Word Of Truth Rightly Divided). Man Made Programs are another device Satan use to keep many blinded from seeing the truth in God’s Word.

African Methodist Episcopal Church, Assembly of God, Baptist Churches, Catholic Church, Christian Church, Church of God, Church of God in Christ, Episcopal Church, Foursquare Gospel Church, Greek Orthodox Church, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Protestant Church, Lutheran Church, Methodist Church, Mormonism, Nazarene Church, Presbyterian Church, Seventh Day Adventist Church, United Pentecostal Church And Many More. Each one of these assemblies are saying God said do it this way. My friends, God is not the author of confusion. God gave a solution to this problem, and it’s in 2nd Timothy 2:15. Studying Rightly Divided!!!!!

Denominations are man-made organizations which were started by men and not by Christ. There are many different denominational churches, all with different and conflicting doctrines, beliefs, and teachings. They all wear different names, practice different forms of worship, have different plans of salvation, and each has its own earthly headquarters. None of this is authorized by the Lord. How could anyone conclude that scripture authorizes any of this present confusion or that God is at all pleased by the wholesale abandonment of His plan as found in the Bible? “For God is not the author of confusion” (1 Corinthians 14:33), but man is. Satan uses the many denominational churches to fool people and cause many to be confused and not know for sure where they will spend eternity. I thought I was standing on the promises of God’s Word all those years, when all I was really doing was sitting on the premises! Every Sunday was routine and a ritual. I was just going through the motions.

 Satan Promotes Denominationalism

Satan does not want anyone to be saved. Satan rejoices at all of the religious confusion and division that is going on in the world today. Satan works ceaselessly to cause people to follow their false denominational doctrines instead of the Word of Truth rightly divided. Satan has been very successful in fooling people today, just as he fooled Eve in the Garden of Eden with his lies. The devil has been able to lead dedicated church members, for instance, gradually to compromise the pure truth of the Bible. The devil is continuing to work through those who have no knowledge of the Word of God to bring about major changes in doctrine, and the people, not wanting to cause trouble, fail to protest. The Goal of Satan in these denominations are Work, work, work. The control method used here is fatigue. The member does not have the time or energy to question the doctrines being hammered in by these denominations. I didn’t have time to question false teachings or false doctrines. I was too busy following traditions and commandments of men. I thank God for using others to help open my eyes up to the fact that I was following the traditions and commandments of men.

Remember my friends that wherever God establishes the truth Satan endeavors to sow lies and error. I’ve learned that when someone is saved his life will most definitely change as he is a “new creation, the old has gone and the new has come. Denominations, traditions and rituals can confused someone about their salvation and where they will spend eternity. My friends pray for the truth in God’s Word. I pray you were edified from my personal testimony.

The Gospel By Which We Are Saved

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” Thank God For The Gospel!!!
