Just Do What God Said (STUDY)

If We Just Do What God Said, We Wouldn’t Be Losing Our Minds And Worrying About What’s Going On In The World Today!!!!!! Saints Shouldn’t Be Surprised About What’s Happening In The World Today!!!!! Our Answers Are In The Word Of God!!! God Said To Study, But We Prefer To Read!!! People say, "I read my Bible everyday", but when was time last time they studied it? It is one thing to read about the need to trust in the Lord and another to study it and see a Christian who trusts in God through good times and bad times. The devil's aim today is to keep one away from the Bible (The Word Of Truth) and to keep one away from their heavenly citizenship. 2nd Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

 Worry is Not From God

2nd Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Fear that we have is not from God. Understand that the basis of your worry ultimately comes back to the fact that you are not trusting God. God wants us to stop worrying and not to be afraid. Worry is a lack of faith in God. When you can trust that God has a perfect plan and that everything is going to be just like He said it will be, then you will be able to stop worrying.

Our Battle Is Not Physical (It’s Spiritual)

In the world of conflict and turmoil which we constantly see, the primary battle is not in the material world which we understand, but in the spirit world which we do not sense with our sensory perceptions. Ephesians 6:12 states, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places". Again, in I John 5:19 it says, "And we know we are of God, and the whole world lies in the lap of the wicked one". This conveys the idea that the world is under the control of Satan. In Luke 4:1-13 it is seen that Satan even tried to bring Christ under his control, by playing upon Jesus' human vulnerability, when He was tired and hungry. Satan tempted Jesus in three ways, each designed to allow Satan to gain control over Him. Jesus rebuked Satan at every turn with the Word of God, by saying “ It Is Written”.

“For our citizenship is in heaven; from which also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:” Philippians 3:20

The Christian knows, however, that this world is only temporary. He knows that his permanent home resides in heaven-- and that his affection should be centered there. So we shouldn’t be shocked about what we see in the world today. We must remember that Satan is the God of this world. “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” 2Cor 4:3-4). Satan is behind all the division and strife that we see in the world. We as saints in the Body of Christ are called to be “in the world,” but not“ of the world.”

God Has A Course And Satan Has A Course!!!! What Course Are You On?

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: Ephesians 2:2-6 God’s Course leads to a heavenly home and Satan’s course to eternal damnation. The Word of God tells us that our citizenship is in heaven. This means that this world is NOT our home. We do not belong here. The Word of God tells us that we are strangers and aliens to this world. We are not supposed to be conformed to this world, to share the same interests with the world, behave as the world behaves, watch what the world watch and have the same vision and interests as the world has. We are strangers and aliens here and we are not supposed to be integrated or conformed to this world (Romans 12:2).

Why The Division ( When It’s Not In Agreement With God’s Word Rightly Divided, There Will Always Be Division) So, Don’t Be Surprised About What We See In The World Today!!!!

“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” 1st Cor 1:10 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Amos 3:3.

It is evident through the scripture that I’ve read that any home, government, marriage or friendship will not last if it’s divided. What we see in United States, nations around the world, marriages, homes, local church assemblies, businesses, places of employment, schools and relationships is God’s Word speaking through the holy scriptures. Today we have departed from the Word of God and the God of the Word. The Bible makes it clear that He’s the truth and the truth will set you free and that truth can be found in the Word of God, but Satan has blinded millions to the truth found only in the Word of God. If people are banking on this world getting better before Christ return they are sorely mistaken. The Word of God says many will reject fundamentally sound doctrine and replace it with modernism. It is a belief where all religious beliefs are accepted except for the sound biblical doctrine of the Word of truth rightly divided, and we see it in the lives of so many who lack fundamentals and sound doctrine and their lives reveal it. 2nd Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” So, we shouldn’t be shocked to see what’s happening in the world today. This nation will continue to water down the Gospel and lead people astray. Satan has blinded many in the places of government to the truth in God‘s Word. Paul preached to the Ephesians that mankind's true battle is against Satan and his demons. Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole amour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole amour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

God is changing and transforming lives when we accept His plan of salvation by believing on the Gospel and walking in His Word by studying it and believing it. By the effectual working of the Holy Spirit, He will transform our lives. Please open up your eyes to the truth in God’s Word. We live in a world where we rather entertain than speak Word of Truth. We’re teaching people to live happy, instead of living godly. Satan know that the best way to prevent people from thinking like Christ and following Christ is to give them misdirection that will lead them down the wrong path. Many in the Body of Christ has adopted the world's teaching on marriage and have redefine marriage according to the world. Be aware of the schemes of the devil, he want us to conform to his ways not those of Christ. He wants to destroy families and fatherhood. His teaching has taken too much place in the church today. The first piece of armor we are instructed to put around our waist is truth—God's truth. Following the addition of the rest of the armor we are admonished to 'be on the alert with all perseverance. We in the Body of Christ must stop adapting to the world by adopting the world's ideals. Paul identified who was the god of this world and warned his followers that it was Satan who blinded the world to the glorious gospel of Christ. “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” 2Cor 4:3-4).” Satan rules in the hearts and lives of all wicked people - and the world is full of wicked people. They obey him, and submit to his will. The dominion of Satan can be seen all over this world. The world pursues his plans; yields to his temptations and neglects and rejects the God’s Word. Satan "hates" the gospel, and wishes to prevent its influence and spread in the world. The gospel is light and Satan hates the light. This purpose of preventing the light of the gospel shining on people, Satan will endeavor to accomplish by all the means in his power. Our response is stated clearly: we are to continue to abide by the Word of God, to not be deceived by Satan and his cohorts, and allow the scriptures to be our guide and strength. Trust our Heavenly Father who is sovereign and in control.

The Gospel By Which We Are Saved

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” Thank God For The Gospel!!!

(Turn Away From The Truth) 2nd Timothy 4:3-4

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

 (Perilous Times) 2nd Timothy 3:1-5

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (KJV)

Godlessness in the Body Of Christ 2nd Tim 3:1-5

1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-- 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. (NIV)

When reading the above passage in the two different versions, one almost feels like they are reading the headlines of this morning's newspaper. Just read the list of sins and ask yourself if this is not what society is like today. These people are spoken of as "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof". This isn't talking about a bunch of people who profess to be unbelievers! They have a form of godliness, although it is just a form. That is, it is just in form only. They deny it (what they believe) any real power over their lives. They say they believe, but they do not act on it. The Bible has a lot to say about such people. This passage describes people who "profess that they know God", but whose works (actions) show that they do not. These people are also said to be "ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth". As a matter of fact, they are said to "resist the truth". Although they may go to church, read their Bibles and sit in Bible studies, they never actually come to the knowledge of the truth. That is, they never act upon it. A person who says they know and believe something, but does not act upon it, doesn't really believe what they claim. Saints we must get in the Word and Study!!!!

Tickling Ear Messages
2nd Timothy 4:3-4 ( Turn Away From The Truth)

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

 TRUE STATEMENT ( PLEASE READ)

I think most of us would agree, that if you had a choice between things that make you feel good, and things that don’t feel so good, our natural inclination would be to pursuit that which makes us feel good. Why do we ignore certain truths that we need? Why do we want the apple pie of the Word, and ignore much of the meat? What we are really saying is that certain truth does not feel good, does not fit my lifestyle, and therefore, I am going to skip that scripture. I am not going to obey that truth, because it is not meant for me at this time. As saints in the Body of Christ, We must not continue to read the bible with ourselves in mind. We must read His word, and hear His counsel towards what He has chosen for us. If we continue to digest and interpret His Word selfishly and listen to flesh pleasing teachers, we will never become mature saints. Many will continue to stay on the milk of the Word.

TICKLING EAR MESSAGES MAY ADD MANY TO THE CHURCH, BUT IT DOES NOT RESULT IN SPIRITUAL GROWTH.WATER DOWN PREACHING PRODUCES INEFFECTIVE SAINTS!!!!! EMOTIONS ARE STIRRED UP BUT LIVES AREN’T BEING TRANSFORMED. TICKLING EAR MESSAGES SAINTS MAY LOOK GOOD ON THE OUTSIDE, BUT THERE IS NOTHING ON THE INSIDE!!!!!!

(I’m God’s Ambassador, Not Man)

" As God’s ambassador, I must guard the treasure entrusted to me." I then must "Study the Word and handle it accurately." I must not only guard it and study it, I must preach it." The Lord taught me that I must preach the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:26-27). I’ve learned that when the truth is preached, people will either accept it or they will turn on you like they did my Lord, Stephen and Apostle Paul on many occasions. I still will stand bold in the Lord. Great preaching must point people not to just hear difficult teaching, but to be accountable to Christ to act on that knowledge.

Tickling Ear Messages
Paul tells Timothy that itching ears accumulate for themselves teachers who will tell them what they want to hear. Itching ears desire teaching that suits their own passions. We sing and read and preach about grace, but too often, our talk about grace is simply another method of preserving our self-righteousness. The preaching we listen to on Sundays may be truth-filled and Bible-centered, but if it only points out the problems of everyone else in the world, it misses its target. Our ears are tickled, but our hearts are unchanged. Ear-tickling preaching may step on toes, but they’re never the toes of the people in the pews or the pastor in the pulpit. Listen, there was clearly no room in Paul's ministry for "give the people what they want" theory that is prevalent today. He did not urge Timothy to conduct a survey to find out what people wanted and then preach what they see as their felt needs. Paul never suggested to Timothy that he study demographic data. He never suggested that he do research on the felt needs of his people. He commanded him to preach the Word faithfully. And you'll have to notice in that text that nothing Paul said to Timothy had anything to do with how people might respond. He didn't lecture Timothy how large his church should be, how much money he should take in and how influential he should become. He didn't suggest that the world was supposed to revere, esteem and accept Timothy and he was supposed to become very popular. In fact, Paul said nothing whatever about external success. Paul's emphasis was on commitment, not success. He never said anything about whether unbelievers should attend or would attend or tolerate what he said except to warn him about persecution. I will always remember that as a preacher in the Body of Christ, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”2nd Corinthians 5:10. That's the point Paul is making to Timothy. Remember your calling is in the context of the presence of God and your accountability is to please Him, not men. These heaped teachers are a dime a dozen, and they are standing in the pulpits of many of today's churches. So when you drive down the street and see a church building on every corner, do you realize that many of these churches are the kind of churches spoken against in this passage? If all of the churches are fine, where are the ones spoken of in this passage? Scripture tells us that saints will not want to hear the truth. That is a sad commentary when saints will turn their ears away from the truth.

The Emotional Christian
(No Doctrine On The Inside/An Ineffective Saint)

By Pastor Timothy D. Roberson
By The Grace Of God Home Bible Study

INTRODUCTION

I remember I use to dance and jump all around at my local assembly and was caught up in my emotions. The sad part was that when the time came for me to witness or expound on the scriptures, I was lost. I didn’t have no doctrine inside of me. I was what many term an “Emotional Christian”. Human emotions play important roles in our lives. This is natural and may be quite wholesome. But we all realize that sometimes emotions cloud people's thinking, so they do things they should not. Emotions can be confusing, uncertain, even dangerous. Saints in the Body Of Christ (The Church) must remember that Emotion always enters from man’s outside, whereas inspiration originates with the Holy Spirit in man’s spirit. God’s Spirit alone inspires. Emotional Christians thrives wholly in accordance with the particular environment of the given moment. Many walk according to their emotions, since they do not understand what walking according to the spirit is nor have ever sought to so walk in the spirit, they will naturally walk according to the movement of emotion. Many in the Body of Christ believe in a church, preacher, or doctrine, because they "feel good" about it, regardless of whether or not they have found convincing evidence that it is true. Some almost rebel against the need for study and evidence from the Word of Truth rightly Divided. They view faith as a "leap in the dark" based on feelings.

EMOTIONS AND WORSHIP

A. Many Churches Design Their Worship to Excite Emotions.
People often mistake emotional feelings for true spiritual-mindedness. When they get excited, they "feel close to God" or claim they "feel the Spirit moving." Some people will only attend churches where they get this emotional "high." So some churches appeal to such thinking by deliberately arranging activities that provoke excitement and emotional stimulation. They intentionally use such emotionalism to draw crowds. Consider some examples:
Beautiful cathedrals with fancy artwork to create a "mood" that people enjoy. Exciting preachers with dramatic eloquence or dynamic speaking rhythm that arouses and excites.
Thrilling music with instruments and special singing groups or with hypnotic rhythms that arouse, excite, entertain, and "move the audience" (emotionally). External rituals such as lighting candles and dimming lights to create a mood. "Tongue-speaking" and "healing testimonials" that excite people emotionally - Often it is the emotions involved that lead people to desire these gifts, regardless of what the Bible says about the true purpose and use of the gifts (1 Corinthians 12-14). Clapping, shouting, continual "Amens" and "Praise the Lord" - Such activities are often deliberately used by preachers to stir up emotions and excitement. Some people think these activities are highly "spiritual," but honest observation shows that they are just natural emotions, which appeal to man's carnal, physical desire for excitement and thrills. They are not truly spiritual at all, but are mere externals. They motivate people by means of emotional excitement very similar to what attracts people to ball games, rock concerts, and pictures of pretty girls. People seek "a good time," enjoying the mood and excitement. But excitement does not equal spirituality. When done in the name of religion, such motivations often lead to unscriptural beliefs and practices, which are justified as being the will of God but which really do nothing but satisfy fleshly desires. Is God really pleased by such motivation in worship?

EMOTIONAL CHRISTIANS AND FEELINGS ( A RECIPE FOR DISASTER)

Following feelings to guide us in our walk with Christ will result in division and confusion. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 - Satan is a deceiver, liar, and counterfeiter. Everyone knows that Satan and evil may inspire feelings like anger, hate, etc. So why can't they inspire us to feel sure certain doctrines are true, when really they are not true? Many people tell experiences that led them to "feel sure" they were right, but their practices thoroughly contradict the Bible. How do you know when a feeling does or does not really tell you God's will? How can you be sure your feeling is really from God? People may accept a doctrine because others believed it. There are programs and organizations that make emotional appeals for money to help needy people or to save lost souls, despite the fact the program or organization itself may be corrupt or unscriptural. Can we be sure we are right spiritually just because we feel right, or because we prayed and had an emotional experience? All of us know instances where feelings have led to serious mistakes. Movies, books, and songs urge people to "follow your heart." It makes good entertainment, but many people who try it in real life have lived to regret it. Young people "feel sure" they are in love, so they marry on impulse, then regret it for the rest of their lives. Strong emotions may lead to adultery, killing, stealing, and other evils. Are these acts right just because our emotions led us to do them? 2 Timothy 3:16,17 - The Scriptures provide us to "all good works." If we ought to trust our feelings to tell us right from wrong, then the Bible should say so. Where does it say this?1 Corinthians 1:10-13 - God rebukes religious division and contradictions. Yet such division is inevitable if we follow our feelings, because feelings vary so much from person to person and from time to time.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF WORSHIP?

We worship in order to give God honor, glory and thanks. Saints must also remember that we don’t need a building to give honor, glory, thanks and to worship God. We can worship God anytime and any place.1st Corinthians 3:16 ‘Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” But what pleases us and what pleases God are often two entirely different things. We must determine what we do in worship, then, according to what God wants, regardless of whether or not it excites us or gives us enjoyment. Sometimes people say, "I just don't get anything out of worship," meaning that it does not please them like they expect it to. But this is no excuse for failing to worship, or for changing the worship so that it does please us. The purpose of worship is to please God, not to please the worshipers. We should participate, not for the feeling we "get," but for the honor we can give to God. Hebrews 10:24,25 - We assemble to "provoke one another to love and good works" and to "exhort one another." Note that it does not say to provoke one another to excitement and a "good time." Colossians 3:16 - We sing to "teach and admonish one another" as well as to express praise to God. 2 Timothy 4:2-4; 2 Corinthians 7:8-10 - Scriptural teaching may, at times, rebuke people and lead them to sorrow for sin. This may not be enjoyable or pleasing to the people, but it is still an essential part of worship. (See also Acts 20:7; 11:26; 1 Corinthians 14:19-26; 1 Thessalonians 2:4).
To Be Sure Our Worship Accomplishes These Purposes, We Must Practice Only What Is Authorized In God's Word Rightly Divided.
Matthew 15:9 - Worship based on human invention is vain. We must avoid things that people invent or choose to participate in, either because of human wisdom or because of human feelings. Colossians 3:17 - Everything we do must be in Jesus' name (by His authority). 2 John 9; Galatians 1:8,9 - We are not doing God’s will if we participate in any practice that cannot be found in God's word. So we should not design acts of worship or choose to participate in them simply or primarily because they give people a certain feeling or emotion. We must determine what we practice or participate in wholly on the basis of what God's word says to do rightly divided. Now when Christians worship as God instructs, they surely will often experience emotions. This is good. But again the point is that we must control our emotions, not let them control our decisions about what we do. All people have emotions. But emotions are cyclical(recurring or revolving in cycles). People have highs and lows. Some go way high and then way low. Others vary relatively little. But everyone has times when we are emotionally up and times we are down or "blue." If the purpose or success of worship were to be measured by our emotions, there would be no standard for how to worship or what constituted acceptable worship, because it would vary so much. So the standard God set is an absolute one, not determined by our emotions. We must choose to do what God says to do, motivated by our devotion and trust in his word rightly divided, regardless of what our emotions would encourage us to do. As we obey God in this way, we will develop a true and abiding sense of joy, not based on natural thrills or artificial excitement, but based on our conviction that we have pleased God according to His will. This is true spirituality. (Phil. 4:4)
When Emotions Are The Emphasis, The Message Is Lost And People Don’t Understand
Apostle Paul says in 1st Corinthians 14:15; “What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.” When emotions are the emphasis, many things may be done that excite and thrill, regardless of whether or not they are reasonable or easily understood. For example, instruments, clapping, shouting, and strong musical rhythms arouse feelings, but convey no understandable message. Continual repetition of "Amen," and "Praise the Lord" may lead to excitement with no thought of the meaning of the expressions. Some preachers preach with a sing-song, hypnotic rhythm, often interrupted by interjections from the audience, to produce excitement with little emphasis on the meaning of the message. Mark 7:14; Ephesians 5:17 - The intent of our teaching should be to convey a message that people can understand ( Colossians 1:9; Ephesians 3:3-5).Nehemiah 8:8 - The Levites taught Israel by reading God's law and then giving the sense so as to cause people to understand. Acts 17:2,17; 18:4,- Faithful teachers taught people by reasoning with them. While emotions may have been produced as a side effect, they were never the main emphasis. People's convictions must be based on evidence and on the meaning or content of the message, not on emotion. (See also Acts 19:8; 24:25; 28:23; etc.)1 Corinthians 14 - This chapter discusses spiritual gifts in the age when they existed, prior to the completion of the Scriptures ("that which is perfect" - 1 Cor. 13:8-13 to 2 Timothy 3:16,17.”) However, the principles discussed would apply to all things done in worship assemblies (vv 26,40). All is to be done for the purpose of edifying by means of conveying an understandable message. Specifically, singing and praying must be understandable. Unbelievers will not be persuaded and converted unless they hear a message they can understand. God is not the author of confusion, so worship must be decent and orderly. When they emphasize emotions, people depart from proper concern for an understandable message. Much of what is done is confusing at best or even completely incapable of being understood. The emphasis is on feeling, not on reasoning and understanding. This is clearly rebuked in 1 Corinthians 14.

MOUTHING WORDS LIKE “PRAISE THE LORD” AND “AMEN”, STIR UP  EMOTIONS

Surely such expressions have a proper place in a Christian's vocabulary. But consider:
Matthew 6:7 - Jesus taught His disciples to not use "vain repetitions." Vain repetition refers to repeating words or phrases without seriously considering the meaning. We are just mouthing words. In their desire to stir up emotions, some preachers and audiences repeat "amen" and "praise the Lord" so often that they become vain repetitions. I have heard audiences "amen" a preacher so much that they said it even when he made completely meaningless statements. One preacher got tangled in the microphone cord so he made some insignificant comment about the cord, and several people said "Amen"!
I have talked with charismatic folks who used the phrase "Praise the Lord" for everything. We would discuss a practice they participated in, and I would give a Scripture to show why I believed they were wrong. Even when they could not answer or explain their practice in harmony with the passage, they said, "Oh well. Praise the Lord!" Surely these expressions have lost their true meaning to these people. They are "vain repetitions."
"Amen" ("so be it") is used Scripturally at the end of prayers (1 Corinthians 14:16; Matthew 6:13), at the end of songs (Psalm 41:13; 72:19; etc.), or at the end of a book or sermon (Matthew 28:20; Romans 16:27; 2 Corinthians 13:14; etc.). It is sometimes used when there is a logical break in thought in a lesson (Romans 1:25; 9:5; 11:36; 15:33; Ephesians 3:21; etc.). But never in the Bible is "amen" used in ways that repeatedly interrupt the train of thought, even in the middle of sentences. Such a practice hinders the ability of the speaker to reason with the audience. And continual use of the word causes it to lose its significance and become a "vain repetition."

CONCLUSION

We have learned in this study that we should avoid the abuse of emotions. At the same time, we should not overreact by concluding that all expression of emotion is bad and should be suppressed. The truth is that emotions can be good, but only when we are in control so that we are doing what is scriptural, understandable, and edifying. It is only good and natural for Christians to feel and express emotions as they serve God. But we must not let emotions determine for us what we will believe or what we will do in worship, nor may we let them hinder people from understanding the meaning of what is done in worship. What is the basis for your beliefs and your practices in worship? If we cannot know right from wrong by following our feelings, how can we know? It was exactly to meet this need that God gave us the Bible, the Scriptures. Consider these passages: Romans 10:17 - Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Faith does not come by feelings or by praying for emotional experiences. Psalms 119:105 - God's word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. The Bible (not feelings) shows to us the proper way to go. Psalm 19:7-11. Acts 17:2,3 - How did the apostles convince people what is right or wrong? Did they say to pray for a feeling of peace and assurance? Did they arrange emotional meetings with exciting music, shouting, clapping, and prayers at the mourners' bench? No. They just reasoned with people from the Scriptures! (See also Acts 28:23; 18:28; 17:17; 18:4,19; 19:8,9; 24:25.1 Peter 3:15 - We too should persuade people, not by telling them to follow their emotions, but by giving them reasons: evidence from God's word. John 20:29-31
The Scriptures were written to provide the evidence people need in order to believe and be saved. Bible writers did miracles to prove their message was from God, but now their message and eyewitness testimony of their miracles is recorded in Scripture. So we do not need to see miracles today; we believe on the basis of the testimony in the written word. For we walk by faith, not by sight 2nd Cor 5:7.To know whether or not some teaching is true, we should search the Scriptures daily “Acts 17:11” - , not pray for an emotional experience. Galatians 1:8,9; 1 John 4:1,6; 2 John 9-11 - Many false prophets are in the world. How do we know who speaks the truth? Not by feelings, but by comparing what men teach to the true gospel recorded in the word of truth rightly divided 2nd Tim 2:15. 2 Timothy 3:13-17 - The Scriptures are the guide God provided so we can avoid being deceived. What we need is, not an emotional experience, but a knowledge of the Scriptures that teach, correct, instruct, and provide us to all good works. (2nd Tim 4:1-4.) The Scriptures, however, are infallible and can never be wrong (John 17:17; Psalm 119:128; 33:4; 19:8; Romans 3:4). But we must study the Bible rightly divided and diligently with an honest heart, or we will misunderstand it and still be wrong.
The Gospel (By Which We Are Saved) 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

 IT’S NOT THE PHYSICAL BUILDING!!!!!
By Pastor Timothy D. Roberson
By The Grace Of God Home Bible Study

Satan uses these beautiful church buildings to create a false spiritual atmosphere, a man-made awe or reverence, created by architecture, stained glass windows, etc. It is a false religious spirit, not the Holy Spirit of God. Steeples, stained-glass, ornate designs and other architectural elements that make people think “God is here” are all false. There is no special blessings for those who think it’s all about going to the building . God is not anymore present in the front of the building, in the choir stand, on the pulpit or at the back of the building than He is anywhere else. God's resides is in His people and He is not more present in the front of any building or near the preacher. The scripture says that there will be a great falling away from the true faith before this dispensation of grace ends. It says men will not endure sound doctrine but will have itching ears and will heap to themselves teachers that will fulfill their own lusts. We are in those days where many in the church are following doctrines of men rather than the Bible and believe just showing up to a building will transform them or save them.

Many Think Their Answers Are In A Physical Building

THE ANSWER IS IN THE WORD OF GOD, NOT THE PYSICAL CHURCH BUILDING!!!!

THERE IS A WAY THAT SEEMETH RIGHT UNTO A MAN; BUT THE END THEROF ARE THE WAYS OF DEATH ( PROVERBS 16:25)

 IT’S NOT THE PHYSICAL BUILDING!!!!!

God lives in His people (1Cor 6:19), not in physical buildings. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” Every man thinks his way is right, because it feels and seems right. But God warns that such thinking leads to death. Of course, millions are too in love with the traditions and commandments of men and their own opinions to change, even if the Bible ( The Word Of Truth) let them see that their actions and thoughts to be sin and self-destructive. There is only one criterion for truth and wisdom, and that’s in the Word of God rightly divided.

 GRIEVED IN MY SPIRIT

I am grieved to know today that many BELIEVE going to a CHURCH BUILDING two or three times a week for a couple of hours of emotional stimulation will TRANSFORM THEM OR SOLVE LIFE’S PROBLEMS. MANY BELIEVE IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BUILDING!!!!! Just because we sit in church buildings regularly doesn't mean we really know and live for the Lord. Fellow Christian, don't let your head swell up with pride because you are faithful to a building every Sunday or whatever day you attend and because you give your money, and because you go through the motions at this building every week. God is far more interested in people knowing they are Saved and the Truth of God’s Word Rightly Divided. You can be as regular as clock work to your building, and have a head full of knowledge; but if you have missed the point that a building is just a building and fail to realize that Satan has blinded many to the fact of who the true church is. We don’t need buildings to worship God. We can worship God anytime and any place. We must remember that when all the members leave that building on Sunday, the church has left the building and that building is just a building. We should always be thankful to God for a place to gather and worship together and for the saints to be perfected for the work of the ministry.

WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD (NOT A PHYSICAL BUILDING)

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” People still erroneously try to reach God through physical towers, physical church buildings, sometimes with steeples reaching toward heaven. Satan uses these beautiful church buildings to create a false spiritual atmosphere, a man-made awe or reverence, created by architecture, stained glass windows, etc. It is a false religious spirit, not the Holy Spirit of God. It is a substitute spirit for the Spirit of our true and living God. God wants you to relate to Him daily and moment by moment in a natural and living way by studying and meditating on the Word of God. Our answers are in the one place most saints do not want to look in and that is The Holy Bible ( The Word of Truth). Steeples, stained-glass, ornate designs and other architectural elements that make people think “God is here” are all false.

The Power To Be Transformed And Know How To Deal With Life Is In The Word Of God, Not The Physical Building Many Term ( Church).

There are many godly people who attend local assemblies and there are many positive things about attending local assemblies amongst your brothers and sisters. Many people have accepted and believed in the gospel and is now saved while at their local assembly. We have made ourselves comfortable. We attend a few services a week, we throw some money into a plate, we say a minimal amount of “prayers,” listen to some singing, hear a little preaching and go home. Then, we say to ourselves, “I have now done my Christian duty, and I am saved.” . Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” In order to be transformed we must STUDY the Word of God, in which millions do not want to do.

1 Corinthians 3:16 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

The Building Will Not Change Us ( Running To A Building Will Not Save You Or Transform You) You Can accept God’s Plan Of Salvation Anywhere, Any Place And Anytime)

Running To A Building Will Not Make Us More Holier and Righteous!!! Many have created a sacred and holy PLACE for God to live in and it’s called a physical building called ( The Church) and millions flock to this building mostly on Sundays thinking God is in there waiting and feeling they have done their Sunday duty to God by going to this building. Many don’t realize that the building does not change us, it’s the Word of God by the effectual working of the Holy Spirit. Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” In order to be transformed we must STUDY the Word of God, in which millions do not want to do. Studying and meditating on the Word of God is more than going to a bible study once a week or sitting under a motivational message once or twice a week from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Many in the Body of Christ have substituted the dead stones of the church building for the living stones of Jesus Christ true church (US) The Body Of Christ.

What Happens When Many Get To These Buildings

Those in charge make the service it into an experience where the music and preaching whip people up into a emotional frenzy. Most have changed the worship service of preaching truth into one of entertainment. The pulpit has become a stage to entertain people. People do not come to worship God but to be entertained with modern "so called" Christian music and a generic message that makes people feel good about themselves. Since many get caught up with the idea that it’s the building or the man behind the pulpit that will change them, many continue right on with the very same attitudes, with the very same conduct, and the very same approach to life as if they had never worshiped God or knew about his saving and transforming power through the Word of God.

 What God Is Concerned about

God is more interested in sinners being saved 1st Timothy 2:3-4 “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” His will is that all men will be saved and none perish. He is more interested in saints being transformed into a mature saint in the Body of Christ Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” He is more interested in saints following His instruction on how to properly study the Word of God 2nd Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Fellow Christian, God is far more interested in generosity and victory over greed and covetousness in you, than going to a building. He is not nearly as interested in your singing, as He is the responses of humility, love, encouragement, and other such values that singing should promote in you. He is more concerned about standing on the Word of Truth Rightly Divided and walking in the Word of Truth. We can hear a sermon on soul winning, but that sermon has not done us one bit of good unless we allow the effectual working of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God to make a soul winner out of us.

The Gospel (Is How We Get In Christ And How We Are Saved)

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
